It is the Government of Greenland’s policy to support the great potential for growth in tourism, and that tourism will be a leading and future-proof industry for Greenland.
Efforts to promote tourism are contained in the Government of Greenland’s strategy for “Tourism Development in Greenland: What will it take?” (in Danish) covering the period from 2016 to 2020.
Visit Greenland A/S is Greenland’s National Tourist Board with responsibility for the development of tourism in Greenland. The company’s purpose is to act as Greenland’s national knowledge centre for tourism, to work at branding and promoting Greenland as a tourist destination, and to work to promote and develop the tourism industry and tourism activities in Greenland. It is also the company’s purpose to promote and develop the experience industry, including the handicraft industry.
